Health+ Beta-Glucan

Beta-glucan is a polysaccharide (polysaccharide, D-glucose molecules) found in the cell walls of fungi, yeasts, bacteria, algae and grains. This substance is one of the indigestible fibers, as the body cannot break the chemical bonds of beta-glucan.

Beta-glucan has an immunomodulatory effect. This occurs through increased activation of macrophages. Macrophages are scavenger cells that destroy, dissolve and devour intruders in our body. They possess a receptor which is sensitized to beta-glucan molecules and regulates / stimulates the activity of immune cells.

Since this active ingredient is one of the insoluble fibers, its contribution can also lead to a stimulation of bowel movement. In addition, dietary fiber can counteract constipation.
