This hazelnut spread is made of 90% roasted hazelnuts, a bit of sugar and hazelnut oil.
Like other nuts, hazelnuts are rich in nutrients and have a high content of protein, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. These nuts contain decent amounts of vitamin B6, folate, phosphorus, potassium and zinc.
Hazelnuts are loaded with healthy fats like monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats and contain a good amount of omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, which are associated with lowering cholesterol levels and reducing the risk of heart disease. Moreover, hazelnut butter can help control blood-sugar, thus helping to reduce weight, as well as decrease the body’s insulin resistance.
Directions
There are many ways how to use nut butter ‒ have it on toast during breakfast, eat it for dessert or add it to cake or cookie recipes.
