Creatine

Creatine is a non-essential amino acid that is an important source of chemical energy for muscle contraction. Creatine can also be formed in the liver, kidney, and pancreas from the amino acids glycine, arginine, and methionine.

Creatine improves strength, increase lean muscle mass, and helps the muscles recover more quickly during and after exercise. This muscular boost may help athletes achieve bursts of speed and energy, especially during short bouts of high-intensity activities such as weight lifting or sprinting.

Once creatine reaches the muscles, it is converted to creatine phosphate and ultimately becomes the body's primary energy source.
