Astaxanthin is a naturally occurring carotenoid that occurs in sea creatures and plants. Because of astaxanthin's unique molecular structure, this red-colored pigment is an extremely powerful antioxidant which naturally reduces free radicals in the body and protects cells from oxidative stress.
Astaxanthin's antioxidant properties have also been shown to help improve heart heath and strengthen the body's immune system. It may also provide antioxidant support directly to the eye, brain, skin and nervous system.
NOW Astaxanthin is derived from Non-GMO Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae and has naturally occurring lutein, canthaxanthin and beta-carotene.
